In 2012, after years of success working on multiple audio brands, Boombang assembled a team of strategists, marketers, audio engineers, and product designers to birth a new consumer audio company that would have broad appeal at big box retail.
Fashion-forward and Bluetooth enabled, Soundfreaq's stylish line of wireless portable speakers, headphones, alarm clocks, and other products do just that. And, in a very short amount of time, have effectively disrupted the highly competitive and predominantly masculine world of consumer audio electronics.
In addition to being integral in the overall conception and development of the Soundfreaq brand, Boombang took the lead on all product planning, determined the features and design for each, and managed the sales process. We were also responsible for naming, branding, marketing position, and engineering. Even creating various artist’s collaboration for color palettes and creating a hospitality program with global hotel groups.
But Soundfreaq is much more than a pretty face, and industry reviews consistently rate its products as a leader in both design and value due to its exceptional audio performance engineered in conjunction with our factory partners.
All of this portability, flexibility, and expandability doesn’t come at the expense of good looks; the Soundfreaq is a beautiful piece of technology that can fit in just about any decor. —Rave and Review
That kind of consumer-friendly broad appeal wasn't lost on the retail world. When Target decided to launch our Soundfreaq products, the brand scaled quickly. By 2014, the Soundfreaq line was experiencing double-digit growth every year, ultimately reaching global distribution and $30 million in revenue.
Well positioned and well-reviewed, in just a few years, the Soundfreaq line of offerings dominated the shelves, growing to 15 products in an array of categories including iPod docks, wireless Bluetooth speakers, radios, and more.
Establishing effective sales and distribution channels is a challenge in any industry, particularly in the highly competitive consumer audio field. But after years of success, rapid sales, and an ever-expanding line of products, the Soundfreaq brand was sold to Goodhatch, who took over management and distribution and still continue creating stellar products to this day.
Soundfreaq stands as a proud example of a successful Boombang venture, from concept to collaboration, to completion.
