From ‍‍‍R&D to R&B‍‍‍

Harman International is a publicly traded, high-fidelity brand recognized in studios, concert halls and living rooms around the world, and an R&D powerhouse with over 1,000 patents. Their challenge was: What next? Although Harman’s reputation rang true, growth and expansion in their consumer business seemed on pause thanks to an increasingly competitive soundscape. So they plugged into Boombang to help move several of their lifestyle brands into fast-forward.‍‍‍

Boombang saw an opportunity to help transform Harman with brand partnerships. We created a premium line of headphones for JBL at a time when Beats and Monster seemed to dominate the space. Boombang also was selected to create product pitches for collaborations with Under Armour, J-Lo, Kanye West, in addition to their Infinity line up. The noise cancelling aviation headphones we designed and engineered for Harman and AKG are today considered by many to be the most comfortable and reliable on the tarmac and in the air, unseating BOSE.

Growth. Lots of Growth

Thanks in part to Boombang’s keen market and consumer insights, technology R&D, and product innovation, launches and partnerships, Harman’s revenue stream increased by 24%, adding an extra $1 billion-plus to their bottom line. How does that sound?‍‍‍
